Dear Contestants,

Welcome to the Miss Leeds Area 2018 and Miss Leeds Area Outstanding Teen 2018 Pageant!

The pageant committee is looking forward to meeting each one of you as we begin our quest to crown the new Miss Leeds Area and Outstanding Teen. You will need to arrive at the Leeds High School auditorium by 8:00 A.M. and stay until the evening’s pageant is complete. Other than competition clothing, all contestants will need a black cocktail dress for the opening number. Teen contestants need black shorts and a solid color t-shirt for physical fitness. Teen and Miss pageants will run at the same time. Miss contestants will begin with on-stage questions, (teens will do on-stage questions during evening gown competition), then physical fitness for teens, followed by swimsuit, etc. Both winners will be crowned at the end of the pageant.

Both lunch and dinner will be provided at the school. In addition to qualifying as a contestant in the Miss Alabama & MAOT 2018 Pageants, the winners will join a long line of other successful Miss Leeds Area winners in service to the Leeds community. The winner will receive cash, in-kind scholarships and prizes.

The Miss Leeds Area organization will once again host the Rising Star program for its contestants.
If you did not request a particular Rising Star with your application, our Miss Leeds 2018 & MLAOT 2018 winner will draw from a fish bowl the Rising Star that will accompany her to MAOT/MAP. We usually have a few contestants that are bringing their own Rising Star, if either of those win, their Rising Star will accompany them to MAOT/MAP. The girls will be introduced on stage after the Evening Gown competition. Miss Leeds Area and OT will be required to take the Rising Star to Miss Alabama & MAOT from this pageant. So if you have a Rising Star you wish to be paired with they must send their application and headshot to us via email and mail their $50 fee to participate. If they can not be here for any reason, they must still send in their fee to be paired with you.

DIRECTIONS TO LEEDS HIGH SCHOOL

From Birmingham, take I-20 toward Atlanta, take the 140 exit, when coming off ramp bear to the right, come to the 2nd red light after you exit, turn left and come up hill, turn to the right when you arrive at school and come toward the double doors with covered walk on back side of school. (You will see the cafeteria when coming up walkway.) When entering the double doors, turn to the right and go straight into the band room. When finished unloading, go through auditorium door right beside the band room.
